Cyril’s Run is an informal run across London, before it wakes up, from Tooting Bec Lido to the Serpentine in Hyde Park and back. Traditionally you have a dip in the Serpentine (Serps members only) and be back for the Sunday race!
This challenge is dedicated to its namesake, Cyril Wood, who started the challenge over 30 years’ ago and was a beloved member of both SLSC and Serpentine SC. The run is approx 7 miles each way – the route is up to you.
How the event works:
Date: Sunday 26 October
Start time: 7am - the clocks go back so you get an extra hour in bed
Starting point: Tooting Bec Lido car park
Run solo or with friends
Choose your route. Start in the Lido car park at 7am, run to the Serpentine in Hyde Park – take a dip if you are a Serps member and then run back to Tooting Bec Lido in time for the Sunday race.
Not up to the full 14 miles? Pair up with a cyclist and do one way each, or cheat (responsibly) and get the tube back.
No entry fee.
Everyone who takes part earns the exclusive Cyril’s Run “Everyone’s a Winner” badge and bragging rights until spring.
