You MUST be a member of the South London Swimming Club during the winter season.
New and renewing members please note that the SLSC membership team process membership on a weekly basis, so it may take a few days for your SLSC access card to arrive. Renewing members, your existing card to the Lido to be reactivated. If you card fails to open the gate please leave it with the lifeguard to be checked and returned to you.
Entrance to the Lido is through the members’ winter gate located past the Pavilion. Tap your card on the reader to open the gate.
If you lose your SLSC Access card please email membership@slsc.org.uk there is a £12 charge for a replacement card.
You may bring your bike into the Lido and park it on the bike racks at the deep end.
Please leave your dog at home. Dogs are not welcome at the Lido.
Please be aware that the water is COLD. If you are not acclimatised to swimming in cold water please read Tips for taking the cold water plunge.
Swim clockwise round your chosen lane. If the pool reaches capacity for the number of lifeguards on duty, the lifeguards will operate a “one in, one out” policy. Please wait for the lifeguard to allow you to enter the water.
A klaxton, or a lifeguard, will alert you when it is time to get out of the pool.
The pool is cleared at 1.45pm. Please leave the Lido promptly by 2pm.
In winter the café is available to make your own hot drinks. Bring your own mug, and take it home afterwards. Help yourself to tea, coffee, milk, etc. for a donation. And please clean up after yourself.
The sauna is available for SLSC members in winter.
Shower before using the sauna. Always wear a swimming costume and use a towel to sit on. Avoid wearing jewellery and watches as these get very hot.
The usage times for adults is no more than 20 minutes. Do not use the sauna to warm up after long swims as it may cause dizziness and fainting. Let the body warm naturally for a few minutes before entering the sauna.
You must not use the sauna if you suffer from heart or circulatory problems, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, diabetes or if you are prone to dizziness or fainting spells. If you feel dizzy, light headed and/or short of breath you must not use the sauna and consult your GP.

Book your swim slot on the Places Leisure website or App. You cannot book once a session has started.
If a session is not fully booked (places available) walk-ins are welcome.
Sunday mornings at 9.30 are reserved for the Club race. Book the CLUB RACE session to take part or volunteer. The pool is cleared for about 15 minutes. So, if you don’t want to race or to help out, please do book a different slot to avoid disappointment.
If you need to cancel a booked swim then do so via the Places Leisure website or app. giving at least 2 hours notice.
