SLSC and Tooting Bec Lido 120 years anniversary

This year both Tooting Bec Lido and South London Swimming Club are celebrating their 120 year anniversary.

Tuesday 28 July 2026 – all day

The Lido opened its doors on 28 July 1906.

For the Lido’s 120th birthday SLSC members logged their lengths swum to try and reach 120 miles. By the end of the day, 120 miles had been swum three times over! Thank you everyone for your efforts.

Tuesday 18 August 2026 – 7.30am – 9.30am

SLSC was formed on 18 August 1906.

The SLSC’s 120th birthday was celebrated with a big birthday breakfast. Members brought a lot of food, baked cakes and swam 120 lengths in anything but front crawl in two hours. Plus, there was a mass “jump in” of SLSC members.

And the Mermaids each swam 120 lengths to mark the birthdays. That’s a lot of lengths!
