SLSC and Tooting Bec Lido 120 years anniversary
This year both Tooting Bec Lido and South London Swimming Club are celebrating their 120 year anniversary.
Opening ceremony 26 July 1906
Tuesday 28 July 2026 – all day
The Lido opened its doors on 28 July 1906 and we will celebrate by attempting to swim 120 miles or 2,112 lengths of the Lido in one day.
We will ask everyone who would like to participate to log the number of lengths they swim on the day in the hope that we will reach our target by the end of the day.
Tuesday 18 August 2026 – 7.30am – 9.30am
SLSC was formed on 18 August 1906 and we will be celebrating with a Big Birthday Breakfast from 7.30am – 9.30am. Please bring food to share.
During the Big Birthday Breakfast we will attempt to swim 120 lengths in 120 minutes, by adding together everyone’s lengths swum between 7.30am – 9.30am.
