The Future Lido Project
A film made to help raise awareness of fundraising for the next stage in the modernisation of Tooting Bec Lido. The film includes SLSC members talking about what makes the Lido such an important part of their lives. The film outlines plans for a new entrance with more bike parking, additional toilets, showers and a flexible café that opens onto both the Common and the pool. It also includes a covered area for SLSC's winter use. The goal is a sustainable Lido that serves a diverse community. Call of the Water
Call of the Water was first sung by 100 singing swimmers at the Tooting Bec Lido’s 2015 SLSC UK Cold Water Swimming Championships. In January 2024 the Fifty Shades of Blue Choir celebrated the re-opening of Tooting Bec Lido with a performance of this choral work by musical maestro Diane Berry at the Lido, singing across the clear blue water to an appreciative crowd.
