Art Sale success
What an evening! Over 250 people packed into the Lido Pavilion to see pictures by 21 artists. The works showed how the artists had responded to the Lido and the water in completely different ways – a joyful mix of media and techniques.
The pool itself looked its very best, with special lighting for the event. Chilli and Mint served up delicious nibbles and Graveney Gin provided hot cocktails.
Best of all, the sale was a massive success, with 75% of the pieces sold. The sale made £26,000, with £15,000 raised for the Fu
ture Lido Project. Each artist will receive half of the sale price.
Curator Emma Thistleton said “Thank you to everyone who came and supported and bought a calendar, a print or an original work of art. We had an incredible team of members working hard to put this on and outstanding work by our wonderful artists but it would have been nothing without you pitching up on the night and purchasing. This truly is a wonderful community, thank you one and all.”
